Basic training tips for beginners:

When bringing your puppy home, always speak in a positive and kind voice.  Give your puppy lots of love and attention.  When you are unable to watch your puppy, kennel him or her.  Do not feel guilty.  Puppies need discipline and they enjoy their kennel.  When your puppy starts to do something that you do not approve of such as chewing shoes, toys or furniture, firmly say the word, “No”  Do not use their name.  Only use their name with positive reinforcement.  Also, regarding positive reinforcement, keep a lookout for good behavior and tell your puppy when she or he does something good.  “Good boy”  or “Good girl”   As your breeder, I constantly reinforce behavior such as potty breaks in the back corner of our yard.  Or when I call them to come in, or stay, or “no” behavior when they stop doing the behavior.
